I was inspired
to paint Cobscook Bay when I visited a friend who lives near the park and was invited to
take a walk with her along the rocky shore. The clouds were billowing up into thunder heads, and
as I looked out across the bay, I knew that this scene would soon become a painting. What particularly captured
my interest was the orange seaweed against the blue of the water and sky and also the violet shadows that were
being cast across the rocks.
