| Self Portrait, Sometimes I Work in the Kitchen |
I have spent most of my adult life in Maine and fell in love with it the first time I visited here
over thirty-five years ago. What especially captiviated me on my first visit was the night sky as I drove from the metropolitan
Boston area to visit friends in the small town of Etna-Dixmont. The stars that night were so bright, I couldn't believe
it, and then, when I awoke the next morning at my friends farm, I felt like Dorothy awakening in Oz. To me, it has been
like living in a wonder land ever since. Each time I see a new vista or something as simple as the light bouncing off
the side of a building, I become inspired to capture that moment visually so others can share with me the amazing sights that
are a moment-by-moment experience here.
